There is a place where tradition is a way of life. Character is stitched into the local fabric, And leaders are a natural resource.
It's a place where the future is knocking at the door, But the past always has a seat at the table. Here everyone's glass is half-full, And cynicism is on a permanent leave of absence.
It's a place where fish learn to swim, elephants never forget, And a horse could carry someone all the way to a Nobel Prize.
Every man or woman can make a difference here, Especially the 12th one. And you're as likely to get a statue for a selfless act As you are for a heroic one.
The greater good is a required course, And the helping hand is a required gesture.
This is Aggieland, Where optimism is an alternative energy source, And acts of integrity are on everyone's to-do list.
History is made everyday And remembered every year.
And diveristy isn't just a fashionable term, It's a common thread.
It's a place where pushing ideas forward Doesn't mean pushing values aside.
Welcome to Aggieland. Enjoy your stay.

| --Tailgated with NESA and had a nice little BBQ with the guys. --Lightning coming in to delay the game but seeing the Aggie Spirit prevail and not letting the rain damper it. --Being with NESA to raise the 12th Man Spirit Banner. --Experiencing what it's like to be on field-level during the game with Sawing Off and waving the 12th Man Towels. --Getting onto the 12th Man TV with NESA, and me holding the flag with everyone else waving their 12th Man Towels. --Waving the towel both on offense and defense and yelling our hearts out the entire game. --Having junior privileges the entire game and then senior privileges for the ending performance of the War Hymn.
If only it was less humid, and more of a breeze, it would've been pretty close to the perfect game. Today was awesome.
| Words cannot express the events of the past six days. Fish Camp is simply awesome, and I love everyone in Camp Flores with all of my heart. To all the counselors, it's been a wonderful journey and now we have 150 freshmen who will begin their journey and join us. Now, I can wholeheartedly say that Camp Flores is AMAZING.
There's a spirit can ne'er be told...
Let the journey now begin...

| It's been a while yet again. This is the first time this summer I've updated this. So I guess we'll go through the motions again.
Last couple days of school obviously finals time. Alex and I went to go visit Cade during the beginning of dead week. I like how Alex and I essentially "skipped" school to go on a roadtrip. Not one of those things you get to do in high school. Good seeing old Jober and his campus. UT campus is nice-looking but it's definitetly cramped and Austin is not my choice of city. I stand by my decision to go to Texas A&M. Alex and I also took a walk/jog around campus and have decided to try and start a tradition of our own. We'll see where this goes.
Finals went well....rather the final went well. I only had a philosophy paper to write and a calculus final both due/taken on the last day. So I had a lot of time on my hands to catch up on some work hours. My paper was all right, I figured that this would be somewhat easier to write than the last paper, but it was really hard to write it all out and have it make sense. I had Claire check over my paper and I realize that I have a very huge knack to not take advice from other people. I mean I wanted her to read my paper but I was going to fight back everything she said. I'm amazed it didn't discourage her from further reading. I've got to work on that. So I made some changes, realized that what she said was right, and thought to myself that I should not write a paper in a day and have it edited that same day, especially when I'm tired.
Calculus final went well (again), a lot of studying with Claire went into that one. Then school was out and I was going to hang around CS for a couple of days to chill out. I'm glad I did, spent some time with Claire and Daniel, good stuff. Ran/drove around to a couple of places chasing random bouts of smoke, getting classes for the summer set up, and the like. Family came in on the weekend and took them to the First Pass of Final Review. Not bad of a time. I thought it was neat but I'm not so sure the family was. I guess I understand since it's a Texas A&M/military thing of sorts.
Packed and moved back home, had boxes everywhere that sat around for a week until I finally felt like getting around to it. First week back was basically Fossil Ridge Reunion Week with the last band concert, Nelson's birthday party, picking someone up from Band Banquet, and then going to graduation. Graduation went by faster than I thought it would. I like the valedictory address and the two Panther of the Year essays. Very, very good. Makes me feel like I shouldn't have gotten it. But I did get the strange feeling that I have finally graduated from high school. Even though it was a year ago, it was the Class of 2005 which held the position of most recent graduates, and our legacy was still there. Now, the Class of 2006 is the legacy and 2005 is forever relinquished to the outside world.
Went to Six Flags with the Four and their girlfriends. I had Kady. :) I'm kinda glad I'm not tied down. At least not yet, but then again, I don't have time for it. I did a whole day of Boy Scout training on Saturday, and it's really reignited my desire to stay in the Boy Scout troop and not just in the Sea Scout ship.
This week has gone by pretty fast in my mind. I kinda did squat Tuesday to Thursday after a full day of running errands and activities on Monday. Took Claire K. to Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop and also to Lookout Point where we proceeded to hike down the hill to the waterfall. I think people were skinny-dipping down there as I believe I saw a girl put on her bikini bottom as she climbed up. Then as Claire and I were leaving, this other girl had her top off to adjust it or something. I think that whole group was oblivious to us or something. Good time overall.
Brother got out of school on Thursday and pretty much spent the whole day with him playing games and watching movies. I don't think I've really devoted a whole day to him. We went to go see X-Men: The Last Stand at midnight. Great movie to watch while I was tired and not really thinking or analyzing. A lot of things could've been different but the storyline is pretty intense and quite liberal from the standard comic strip storyline.
Went to Cabela's with Claire K. today, which went well. She had never been and she liked the animal displays and the like. Drove to the Southlake Town Center for the second time this week, this time to see Katie M. at work but she had already left. Bummer for me and my gas tank. I also found out today that I didn't become a University Scholar. That's okay, it'll probably work out better for me, anyway, without the pressure or the additional requirements or whatever. Thanks to everyone who helped me out with that.
This weekend, I'll be going to Turner Falls with the family. Be back here sometime Sunday and then heading back down to College Station on Monday to begin classes on Tuesday. These two weeks have flown by, but I guess I'm ready to get something done this summer. Have a good one, everyone!
